today, jerusalem. surprising place... like a series of alleys/hallways all connected within the old city. the armenian/jewish/arab/christian quarters are all overlapped. at one point we were wandering and an arab boy said in perfect english "this is the muslim quarter. you should not go here." he wasn't watching out for us, he was guarding. it was a weird sensation, to not be welcome somewhere. all religious sites were FULL of people practicing some kind of macdonaldized religiosity. it made me a little sick. my favorite place was david's tower. it had a moat and was solemn. the photo of today is the top of david's tower.
so much to say, but all in all, i learned a lot.
Jerusalem, Israel.
