last photo, an incredible wood stove at the loft house we went to for a new year's party (joey's "boss" lives there). our dogs got to come and play with their dogs, and it was the most beautiful loft house I have ever seen. I wish I could give you all a virtual tour... but the lighting was dark and I'm not a house photographer.

most importantly: I would like all you lurkers to come out of the woodwork and leave a comment. If you ever read this blog, and you see this post, I want you to just leave a comment with your name. Its okay to lurk, but since this is the last ever post I will make, it is time to come clean.

Thanks for viewing and Happy New Year!

madarines and they are yummy! it is rare that you see fruit with leaves still on the stem.

santa, disembarking at the airport. love holiday spirit! I was so close to having my photo taken with him... but got too shy at the last minute.

Philadelphia Airport, PA, USA.

my bags are packed, I'm ready to go..... to Georgia! I let it slip to Joey that I was seeing this as a "vacation". sometimes you just need to get away from normal life.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

walking downtown, I witnessed this at a construction site... looks like santa is teaching a small construction man/child to build? I don't get it...

christmas singing with friends.

harry potter, harry harry potter... we did a marathon this week. it was a great way to relax. and tonight, to celebrate our finals, we had some yummy mixed drinks to go along with it.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

winter wonderland... an internal community accessible only by foot. I love this, I wish we had more of this in Montreal. it is a great way to fit a lot of houses but also have safe "alleys" for kids to play.

Montreal, QC, Canada.

at the vet with pepinot! he is doing well. I love our vet, I can't say it enough. She does not push vaccination and uses 3 year vaccines. she informs you but allows you the space to make a choice.

Montreal, QC, Canada.

oh the weather outside is frightful... no fireplace inside though (that's on "the list" of things I dream of in a home...)

Verdun, QC, Canada.

check up at the eye clinic. they have free coffee and cookies, an aquarium (seen between the two men) and now a christmas tree. also these two men were so quebecois... check out those sweatpants on the left.

dyed my hair. that's my old mini schnauzer, nutmeg in the background she and pepinot met only once.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

my poison and joey's poison... what's yours?

Verdun, QC, Canada.

dinner at Joey's dad's house. it was his grandmother's birthday (and my sisters!) Featured here is my cake that didn't look the best but tasted great, joey's cousin Gregory, and his grandmother, Baboushka.

Pierrefonds, QC, Canada.

got this candle as a gift from my mom. so lovely - birch is one of my favorite trees. on the excited side, I participated in cutting down this exact tree (it was dead) - climbed up a ladder, tied the rope to it, then wrapped the rope around another tree and held on tight...

Verdun, QC, Canada.

looks like its time for a walk! winston always jumps, pepinot always barks. the downside of two dogs is you can never get them both to behave...

Verdun, QC, Canada.

Joey and I went for lunch in this restaurant called "Baguette et Baguette." It was good, but not as good as my favorite panini from Kilo - with ham, cheese and apples mmmm.

Montreal, QC, Canada.

playing a game of settlers of catan with some blurry happy friends...
if my dad had a blog, "bobsmancave.com", would you read it? I sure would.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

my collection is growing! someday I will be an 'expert'... thanks to joey, amy, and elyna for getting some of these for me!

Verdun, QC, Canada.

it just isn't christmas without a big tree... especially one that might cause you to get in an accident.

Allenstown, NH, USA.

family photo time! a little goofy but you can't expect anything else from our family.
today at the post office, the post woman I had never met saw me get some mail from the po box. she then proceeded to comment that if I was picking up my parent's mail, then I should check for the "yellow slip" because they had received a package. they are THAT well known after my friends and family and I have sent 10 or so packages there this last 2 months. love small towns!

Alton Bay, NH, USA.

the snuggie/slanket. nothing brings family together more!
Happy Thanksgiving.

I love pomegranates. they are like 'healthy' candy. a lot of work for a few minutes of sour.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

sad lion, tossed away in the rain... but it was gone before the trash men came.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

had to drive to the tip of the island today: some beautiful houses and views of the river (although the street is called Lakeshore Boulevard). a bit of peace in a world of chaos.

Baie D'Urfe, QC, Canada.

a little blurry, these are cupcakes submitted for awards at the cupcake camp in montreal. it was lots of fun! see some photos here: http://www.facebook.com/cupcakecampmontreal

happy day of turkey! celebrated with friends the week before american thanksgiving. cram 20 people in an apartment, add a lot of delicious food and wine, and you have warmth and smiles.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

waiting for Don Quixote to start. the last play we saw was much more cultural/historical, but this was whimsical and fun.

Montreal, QC, Canada.

this might be "cute". except two weeks ago, walking out of the metro on my way to class, this guy was in the metro freaking out, swearing and walking around, and a girl my age was outside with his dog, which had a blanket tied around his neck with feces on it, and he had feces on his feet. she was on her cell phone. I could not figure out what was going on... but looks like his canine was returned to him.

Montreal, QC, Canada.

when I was growing up, my mom never said "when you're old enough you can have nutella for dinner"... thats because she had never introduced me to nutella. also who drinks wine when you have milk? it should be clear at this point that I will never be vegan.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

gas is quite high in Montreal today... 1.19 per liter at the cheap station, for you Americans, $4.50 US dollars per gallon. ouch! I feel Americans would be rioting if they had to pay that for gas.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

I pass this lovely "graffiti" after class every monday. I love it. My friend used to live in this building. I hate tagging, but I love color and skill. I will take that over boring brick any day.

Montreal, QC, Canada.

on the way to pick up Joey's grandmother, the great orange julep... often photographed in Montreal, it is a big orange that is just a fast food joint with an interesting orange drink. I prefer orange julius, but they are similar.

Montreal, QC, Canada.

ignore the mess, it is no longer that cluttered. however, check out the christmas decorations... that you all requested to see.

Verdun, QC, Canada.

famous piece of history... just kidding. this was in the airport.
